Celebrating digital connection in Covid times this painting is one of two vibrant portraits featuring women hundreds of miles apart and connected through #jointhepatternparty on Instagram. The portraits are based on selfie photography posted to Instagram as part of the #jointhepatternparty challenge and through colour, line, text and layout the art emphasises the positive connection between the two women. The paintings feature the Isle of Man’s Ruby Biscoe-Taylor from the band Biskee Brisht and London based Léonie Flower from Léonie Flower Studio. Co-creators Léonie Flower and Victoria Tojeiro Gonzales started the #jointhepatternparty Instagram challenge during the first lockdown in 2020, more information can be found on their website: www.jointhepatternparty.com.
