Description
30 cm (w) x 40 cm (h) x 4 cm (d) approximately, paint on stretched canvas
Kintsugi is a Japanese art form where broken ceramics are put back together using precious metals, such as gold. In this self portrait I am acknowledging damage & brokenness AND celebrating healing, surviving and growing stronger. The gold here represents restoration and healing; the lines purposely go through the eye to show how our experiences impact our outlook.
